100,000 Miles On My Sporty

I can hardly believe it, 100,000 miles in the saddle of my little 2001 883 Sportster.  You are really not going to believe what I'm gonna tell you next.  The day after I hit 100,000 miles my throttle cable broke, imagine that!! For our 21st anniversary we were headed up to Mt. Dora, a really cool old town in the center of the state.  It's about a 3 hour ride from here in LaBelle where we live so it's a great little Sunday ride.  Well we get about 22 miles from Clermont and all of a sudden the throttle just let loose and wouldn't do anything but turn.  Oh man what luck.... off to the side of the road I went... we just left the gas station too, it could of happened there, but no, it had to happen about a mile after take off.

We rode back to LaBelle and got our trailer then went all the way back and loaded the bike up. Then some more fun started.

I have to tell you though this has got to be one of the funnest times that my bike was on a trailer.  All the way home Frosty was waving at folks on the road and they were waving back.  Every winter Frosty comes out of hiding and gets on my bike.  He rides there mostly during the month of December and a week in January.  Kids love it, they're always waving or smiling at us.
