Fun with Full Throttle Magazine
Well, here I am, six months into writing and being a rep for Full Throttle Magazine, a free, state wide and online magazine for the motorcycle enthusiast. Since I've become an avid motorcycle rider my life just seems to keep changing, it's getting more interesting and lots more fun and I'm learning so much more about the riding world. Full Throttle Magazine is playing a very large roll in the changes.
I never in a million years would of ever guessed that I'd be riding a motorcycle or even more, a writer in a motorcycle magazine. The way the writing come about was I knew the previous writers for our area here in south west Florida, I seen the position go through 2 people and when I saw that the second one quit I figured that I had nothing to lose by trying the writing out for myself. Now I know I'm not a writer but the editor said they would edit for me, not to worry, so what the heck, I sent in my article, it was due the next day after talking to the editor. Talk about pressure......After the first month of having an article in the magazine and people seeing I was in the area I actually had people start asking about advertising, I really didn't want to get into this end of the magazine because I had no experience in advertising and signing people up, the only thing I ever sold was Tupperware many years ago. I did decide to help the person out with the ad and the next thing I know I'm in advertising with both feet. This advertising is turning out to be lots of fun, I get to meet so many really cool people and I'm always coming up with new place to ride to so that I can meet up with clients.
Other fun things that Full Throttle is bringing to my life are more involvement with bike nights. I get to work side by side with some of the businesses and help them organize them and then I get to email my friends, bike shops and any one else I know to let them know about the events. So far we have been very lucky and have always had a really good turn out. Bike nights that I've been involved with so far are McDonalds in LaBelle the first Wednesday of each month, BooBoo's Riverhouse once a month and Beef O'Brady's in Okeechobee on Tuesday nights, their first one was a big bash on July 4th.
Below are pictures from some of the events I either helped with or attended. We have BooBoo's in Labelle, Beef O’Brady's in Okeechobee, River Run of Moore Haven and The Labelle Youth Group Poker Run and the Defenders Poker Run. There are others but I'll have to update those into here later.
We love you Baby CJ
