Yeeee Hawww
I finally got to ride outside the state of Florida!!!!!
October the 19th we (my husband and I) decided to take off for the north and Ride Deals Gap or Tail of the Dragon, one in the same. We rode out from Labelle Florida around 4:30 in the afternoon on Tuesday and ended up getting a room up in Perry around midnight. Between the little bit of rain we caught in Clermont and the light going out on my blinker and the fog we were slowed down and didn't make it outa state as planned. Oh well, we all know in the world of riding things happen. Wednesday morning we when we got on the road around 7, it was a little bit cooler than what we were use to so we had to get the leathers out. I couldn't wait to get started riding, it was almost like the roads were calling my name. We got to see so many cool little old towns and just some good ole fashion living out in the country. The roads were took were back roads, figured the scenery would be much better out there. About 6-6:30 we made it to Dahlonega, Ga and we no sooner got settled in and was going to head out again and opened the door to see it was raining.Bummer, but we did have a great view from the second floor of the hotel we were at. Thursday morning we were up and ready to ride by 8. Fueled up and hit the roads. Below is one of the most prettiest sites we come across that morning. The picture doesn't do the real scene we had justice. But you can get the idea. The lake was such a peaceful mirror to everything around it.
To get bigger size pictures I tried linking back to the picturetrail album, hope it works.....

Here is a picture of me riding on the way to see if I could tame the Dragon. I had to talk my husband into taking pics while riding and it really paid off.
Below is one that I took of my husband riding, I took it over my shoulder and am very surpised that it turned out so good.
Our trip was such a great time, the towns we visited the road we traveled, Everything was awesome. In the 2 days that we had for riding we really made the best of them. Lots of miles riding, no shopping and only stopping to take pictures, eat or get gas. There was just so many beautiful places to ride. Down here in Florida it's nice, we can ride all year but we do end up riding the same roads over and over. New roads to explore like what we found in the other states was a real riders dream. I can't wait to go back and find some more new roads to travel. Think we'll start with the Blue Ridge next time.
Here we are riding the Dragon. Thank you Daryll of Killboy.com for taking them, you do great work, loved the cd with the extra pictures on it.
Thanks for taking the time to share our vacation with us.
Hope to see ya again next time!!!
